Waco Shopping

So you've procrastinated, and suddenly the holidays are here, but you're still searching for gifts. Not to worry. Our real estate agents share this helpful list of their favorite places to find last-minute presents.

  • Fabled Bookshop & Cafe - 215 S. 4th St., Waco, TX 76701
Everyone has at least one bookworm on their list. No matter what their literary taste, you'll find something for them at Fabled Bookshop & Cafe. This is more than just a bookstore, it's an experience… with unique features such as an iconic outdoor mural, Aesop -a wooden owl- welcoming you by the front door, a secret wardrobe entrance to the children's section, an iron lamp, and many other touches of whimsy that bring literary worlds colliding into ours; suddenly gift shopping becomes entertainment. Pick up a book for yourself to enjoy over coffee at the onsite cafe, where themed drinks abound and delight. Order online and mail gifts to those near and far, or pick up in store or curbside. You can even gift a membership to their Fabled Fellows program and give a gift for all year or a gift card. Hours are 9 a.m. - 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 1 p.m. - 6 p.m. Sunday. #longlivethebookshop

  • Hey Sugar Candy Store - 808 Austin Ave., Waco, TX 76701
Heading to a party and need a gift fast? You'll be welcome anywhere when you come bearing treats from Hey Sugar Candy Store. Create a customized assortment of classic nostalgic and novelty candies, or go simple but traditional with some delicious chocolate. Hey Sugar is open 11 a.m. - 6 p.m. Monday, 11 a.m. - 9 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday, 11 a.m. - 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 11 a.m. - 9 p.m. Sunday.

  • Magnolia - 601 Webster Ave., Waco, TX 76706
The home and lifestyle products available at Magnolia are so delightful that you'll be tempted to keep them for yourself. Magnolia is the brainchild of TV design stars Chip and Joanna Gaines. The shops are full of rugs, cookware, bedding, and other home accessories that are both functional and fashionable. There's not much time left, but Christmas at the Silos is ongoing until December 23rd, so make sure to visit and experience some holiday cheer-including snow!  Magnolia is open Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. - 6 p.m.

  • Bankston's - 1321 S. Valley Mills Dr., Waco, TX 76711
Comic books and collectibles are no longer exclusive to kids. Find gifts for any age at Bankston's. Few shops have a diverse history like Bankston's, which started as a tire and appliance store in the early 1970s. After morphing into a used bookstore in 1985, the shop eventually took its current form under the sons of founders Rodney and Kay Bankston. Hours are 10:30 a.m. - 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday.

  • Spice Village - 213 Mary Ave., Waco, TX 76701
If you have a lot of shopping to do but not a lot of time, head to Spice Village. Located in a historic 30,000-square-foot building, Spice Village is home to more than 60 independent boutiques under one roof. Home decor, clothing, jewelry, bath and body products, and candles are only a few of the categories covered by this variety of shops. Solve the problem of that hard-to-shop-for friend with a gift certificate that can be redeemed at any store in Spice Village. Hours are 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday and noon - 5 p.m. Sunday.

  • The Barn - 608 Dry Creek Rd., Waco, TX 76705
Tired of the mass-produced items at the big-box national retailers? Support local artisans near Waco homes for sale with the purchase of one-of-a-kind gifts at The Barn. Located at Homestead Craft Village, hundreds of hand-crafted items fill the two-centuries-old barn that was once part of the Hope Farm. Have an idea for a truly special gift? Make your vision a reality with a custom order from one of The Barn's craftsmen. Hours are 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. every day but Sunday. (The Homestead Craft Village will be closed for the holidays December 24-25th)

Remember, there are also many local shops and restaurants that offer gift cards, so make sure to check out their websites and locations for options! For the Boba Tea lover in your life, a membership or gift card from Cha Community is ideal!  For the locally sourced, organic-product aficionado, remember, you can always give a gift card to the Waco Downtown Farmers Market. There are many more options and shops in Waco and surrounding areas to explore.
