Events Coming to Waco in 2022
Waco is a vibrant area filled with plenty of things to see and do. The city hosts a variety of community events each year that cater to a variety of interests. Plus, be on the lookout for other events throughout the year hosted by our team. Make sure to follow Kelly, Realtors on socials to find out about some of our own events as we announce them to the public closer to event dates. - The Texas Food Truck Showdown - March 19, 2022 - Downtown Waco, TX
Started in 2015 as the first Texas-wide food truck competition, The Texas Food Truck Showdown has grown over the years to become one of Waco's most popular signature events. To order food from any of the food trucks, buy Tasty Tickets to exchange for signature dishes from any of the participating trucks. Celebrity judges will vote on the overall champion and category winners, and the public will be able to vote on the People's Choice Award. - Jim Henson's Dinosaur Train: The Traveling Exhibit – Jan. 29-May 1, 2022 - Mayborn Museum Complex, 1300 S. University Parks Dr., Waco, TX 76706
Let your kids have fun at Jim Henson's Dinosaur Train: The Traveling Exhibit, and they probably won't realize they're learning at the same time! The exhibition is hosted by a curious Trex who travels the world to find out everything about dinosaurs. Kids can "travel" to the three time periods that make up the Age of the Dinosaurs and learn about what they ate and how they're classified. Scientists will explain how they use fossils to make discoveries about dinosaurs, and kids can interact with real and replica fossils. They can also study the sizes and measurements of dinosaurs. - Spring at the Silos – March 10-12, 2022 – 601 Webster Ave, Waco TX 76706
Usher in the spring season by attending 'Spring at the Silos' an event full of vendors, artisans, and makers from across the country at the famous Silo Grounds in Waco, Texas. The event is free and open to the public, however, there are ticketed events happening at the grounds including a rooftop picnic. Spring menus will be available from food vendors to delight you as you shop and explore as well as music on the lawn. - Temple College Jazz Festival – March 31-April 2, 2022 – Temple College, 2600 S. 1st St. Temple, TX 76504
The Temple College Jazz Festival celebrates its 30th anniversary in 2022 with a three-day event. School performances and clinics will be held, as well as a clinic with trumpeter Carl Saunders. He'll also perform with The Temple College Jazz Ensemble and Temple College Faculty Jazz. An all-star jam session will be held at the nearby Hilton Garden Inn, and The Temple Jazz Orches will perform an evening concert. - Central Texas Comic Con – April 9-10, 2022 – Extraco Events Center, 4601 Bosque Blvd, Waco, TX 76710
Waco's pop culture convention, Central Texas Comic Con, is packed with activities you won't want to miss. Wear your favorite cosplay outfit to enter a contest, and shop for all things comic and pop culture-related at vendor hall. You can also attend seminars and get autographs from comic artists and others. The two-day event is appropriate for all ages, so bring the kids along to have some fun. - 2022 Silo District Marathon – April 22-24, 2022 – 601 Webster Ave, Waco TX 76706
Preparations begin Friday, April 22nd, and you can participate in a 5k on Saturday, April 23rd, a half, or a full marathon on April 24th. All race net profits will be directed to "Brave Like Gabe Foundation" in support of rare cancer research. Whether you decide to run for a good cause, to stay in shape, or to challenge yourself, we'll be waiting for you in Waco. Make sure to register online before the event. - TriWaco Triathlon – July 10, 2022 – 101 N. University Parks Dr., Waco, TX 76701
Waco was the home of the first triathlon held in the state of Texas, and the annual tradition continues in downtown Waco in 2022 with the TriWaco Triathlon. The event features sprint and Olympic distance events as well as a spectator-friendly bike course.
